Module 1 introduction to supervision

In this introductory lesson, participants will get an introduction to the role of supervisors and gain  a foundational understanding of their role in social services.  We will focus on the distinctions between administrative, clinical, and reflective supervision, and how these forms guide staff development and organizational success.

Module 2 Setting the Foundation for Successful Supervision

The goal of Module 2 is to equip new supervisors with the tools and strategies needed to establish clear expectations, maintain professional boundaries, navigating dual relationships, and foster a supportive, accountable supervisory relationship.  Participants will gain tools to support perfomance measurement, accountability and cultivate growth in themselves and their team.

Module 3 Trauma-Responsive Supervision

The goal of this Module is to help new supervisors integrate trauma-responsive practices into their supervisory approach, supporting both staff and clients while fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes emotional well-being.

Module 4 Communication Skills for Supervisors

In this Module, participants will gain valuable communication skills, equipping them with the tools to effectively engage with supervisees of diverse backgrounds and communication styles, while fostering an environment of open dialogue and constructive feedback.

Module 5 supervision for diverse teams

In this Module, we will provide supervisors with the skills and understanding needed to lead diverse teams effectively, ensuring inclusivity, cultural competence, and the promotion of equity within supervisory relationships.

Module 6 building reflective practice in supervision

The goal of this Module is to help supervisors develop a reflective supervision practice that fosters self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and professional growth in both supervisors and supervisees.

Module 7 problem solving and conflict resolution

In this Module, supervisors will be equipped with effective problem-solving and conflict resolution strategies, enabling them to navigate challenges and foster a harmonious, productive team environment.

Module 8 evaluation and feedback mechanisms

The goal of this Module is to provide supervisors with the skills and tools to effectively evaluate staff performance and deliver constructive feedback that fosters growth and accountability.
